Real places, grouped for a visit

Poldark filming locations

Every confirmed Poldark filming location, what it played on screen and whether you can visit. This guide covers the BBC One series of Poldark (2015–2019, five series, 43 episodes), not the 1975–77 BBC adaptation or other earlier screen versions.

Area

Penwith: the mining coast

Cornwall's far west, between St Just and Land's End, supplied Ross's mines and most of his coves. Botallack and Levant sit a few minutes apart on the north cliffs; Porthgwarra, Porthcurno and Penberth lie on the south coast, about half an hour's drive away.

Area

The Lizard

Britain's most southerly peninsula gave the series its wreck beach at Gunwalloe, the turquoise water of Kynance Cove and the riding cliffs at Predannack. All three are National Trust coast reached from car parks.

Area

North Cornwall coast

The cliffs and beaches between St Agnes and Padstow: St Agnes Head and Wheal Coates for Nampara's clifftops and a late-series mine, Holywell Bay for the Warleggan beach, and Park Head above Porthcothan for riding scenes.

Area

Mid Cornwall and Bodmin Moor

Charlestown's Georgian harbour near St Austell, the moorland around Minions where Ross first meets Demelza, and the quiet Fal estuary shore at Turnaware Point used for the French landing.

Area

Wiltshire

Three places within a short drive of Corsham: Great Chalfield Manor as Killewarren, Corsham's honey-stone High Street as Truro, and the lake at Bowood as London's Hyde Park.

Area

Gloucestershire

Three historic houses north of Bath and Bristol: Dyrham Park as the Warleggans' town house, Chavenage House as Trenwith, and Berkeley Castle as Roscoff in France.

Area

Bristol

The city where the studio sets were built also gave the series a court room, a London theatre, London street exteriors, mine interiors and country estate scenery. Most of it is within walking distance of the harbourside.

These are documented but either private, too broad for a useful visit or only briefly used, so they do not have their own pages.
