How St George's Hall and St John's Gardens appears

St George's Hall is one of the busiest Peaky Blinders locations, doubling for several different places. In series three it hosts a grand charity dinner. In the opening episode of series four its interiors help bring the Shelbys back together, and once Tommy becomes an MP its corridors stand in for the Houses of Parliament. The final episode of series five uses it for Oswald Mosley's rally, a set piece the series builds towards. The story places these scenes in Birmingham and London; all were filmed in this one Liverpool building and the gardens behind it.

The real place

What you can visit

The hall is a Grade I listed Victorian concert hall and courts building opposite Lime Street station, with St John's Gardens on its western side. The exterior, the steps and the gardens are free to see at any reasonable time. Access to the interior depends on events, tours and opening days, which change through the year, so check the hall's website before you plan around seeing the Great Hall or the courtrooms. The 2026 film also used the outside of the hall, dressed as wartime Birmingham.

Events sometimes close the plateau or parts of the gardens. Avoid blocking entrances if you are taking photos on the steps.

Getting there.

Lime Street station is directly opposite, so this is the easiest Peaky site to reach by train. City-centre car parks are close by. The plateau in front of the hall is level; the gardens have paths and steps. Interior access arrangements are listed on the venue's site.
