How Llanddwyn Beach and Newborough Forest appears
VisitBritain names Llanddwyn Beach and Newborough Forest among House of the Dragon's second-season locations. The wide sands, dunes and views to the mountains of Snowdonia work as a Westeros shoreline, and the Corsican pines of the forest as its woods. The scenes are not tied to a specific episode or fictional place. The real beach runs for miles along Anglesey's south-west coast, ending at Ynys Llanddwyn, a tidal island with a lighthouse and the ruins of St Dwynwen's church; the island is a landmark here rather than a confirmed part of the filming.

What you can visit
Newborough Forest and Llanddwyn are part of a National Nature Reserve managed by Natural Resources Wales, with dunes, pine forest, salt marsh and a long sandy beach. Waymarked trails run through the forest, and the walk along the beach to Ynys Llanddwyn takes about 30 minutes; the island can be cut off at high tide. There is a pay car park among the pines by the beach, with toilets. The reserve is free to walk.
Ynys Llanddwyn is cut off at high tide. Check tide times before crossing, and keep dogs on leads in the nature reserve.
VisitBritain: House of the Dragon filming locations ↗Follow signs from Newborough village on the A4080 to the forest car park, which charges per vehicle. Buses run to Newborough village, about two miles from the beach. Forest tracks are firm, but the beach and dunes are soft sand. Check tide times before crossing to Ynys Llanddwyn.
