How Pollnagollum Cave, Belmore Forest appears

In season three, Arya and Gendry are taken by the Brotherhood Without Banners to their hidden base at Hollow Hill, where Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr hold court in a cave lit by fire. The production filmed the cave entrance and waterfall at Pollnagollum, with the larger interior scenes built in the studio. In the story Hollow Hill lies somewhere in the Riverlands, kept secret by the outlaws; in reality it is a limestone cave in a conifer forest on Belmore Mountain, in the cave country of west Fermanagh. It is the most remote site in this guide and the least visited.

The real place

What you can visit

Belmore Forest is a working conifer forest on the slopes of Belmore Mountain, with forest tracks that walkers use. Pollnagollum is a natural pothole where a stream drops into the limestone, forming a cave mouth and waterfall in a wooded hollow. There are no visitor facilities, signs or managed access to the cave itself, and the ground around it is steep, slippery and dangerous. View the cave entrance from the forest track and do not climb down or enter it without proper caving guidance.

Do not enter the cave or descend into the pothole. Limestone caves flood fast, and the slopes around the entrance are steep and slippery.
