How Wilton House appears
Wilton House supplies part of Pemberley's interiors in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. VisitWiltshire's dedicated tour identifies the Double Cube Room as a Pemberley setting, giving visitors a specific room to look for rather than a general film credit. Chatsworth supplies other parts of the same screen estate, including its Sculpture Gallery. Wilton is therefore a separate piece of the film's construction of Darcy's home. It should not be labelled as the 1995 Pemberley, whose interiors were filmed at Sudbury Hall.
The real place
What you can visit
The real house is in Wiltshire near Salisbury and remains the home of the Earl and Countess of Pembroke. A visit follows the advertised public route, not the entire private residence. That distinction matters when comparing a particular film image with a real room: productions can change furniture, camera direction and the way neighbouring spaces appear to connect. Enjoy the room's real architectural scale as well as its fictional identity, and check which interiors are included on your chosen day before building the visit around one scene.
Keep a note of the Double Cube Room's name when checking the visitor route. A specific room request is more helpful than asking whether every space from the film will be available.
VisitWiltshire: Pride and Prejudice itinerary ↗Salisbury is the useful rail base for Wilton. Historic Houses lists onward Wilton and Ditchampton bus connections, but services should be checked with the current operator before travel. Drivers should follow Wilton House's own visitor entrance instructions rather than a route to private estate buildings. Confirm house and grounds opening arrangements separately, especially outside the main visitor season.

Stourhead offers another Wiltshire stop from the 2005 film, with a completely different role as the proposal garden. Lacock provides a comparison with the BBC's 1995 Meryton. Also filmed here: Wilton supplies royal rooms in Bridgerton, a different role from Pemberley.
